Extend your Super Speed USB 3.0 connection by an extra 3-16 feet with this cable with a passive extension cable. Although the original USB 3.0 official spec indicates a 3.2 Gbit/s transfer speed, this cable will support speeds of up to 5 Gbit/s. Throughput of course depends on your host and peripherals. This cable features a male head and a female head allowing you to extend a male to male cable run easily and without couplers. However because these cables are not active extension cables they are not able to be daisy chained for extra distances.

USB 3.0 - No More Bottleneck

USB 3.0 features "superspeed" mode, allowing up to 5 Gbit/s transfer rates. This is ten times faster than the previous maximum speed of USB 2.0 (480 mbps). This means you can take full advantage of the full transfer speeds of the interface your hard drive uses -- 3 Gb/s for SATA and much less for IDE -- so USB is no longer the bottleneck.
